bikram no-ga

my adorable bfriend majed whose pantsless look I posted a few posts back knows I love yoga, so for the holidays he hooked up an introductory series to bikram yoga union square. have you ever done bikram yoga? it kind of sucks. its called hot yoga. and they blast 120 degree air into a closed door room for an hour and half while the dedicated students inside hold poses. everyone is practically naked in teeny bikinis. and sweating. both men and women. it's gross. I am attempting to go back in hopes that I can at least slavage a portion of my thoughtful gift. but I don't know what to wear?! I feel like when I made the gymnastics team in 9th grade and didn't join because I felt too fat in my leotard. any sporty suggestions?

boyfriend chic

last night, my boyfriend, majed and I had tickets to a broadway show. so, we thought it nice to get spiffed up for one another and hit the town proper date style. I wore my gorgeous virgin lambswool prada black dress that evokes madonna in the dolce & gabbana ads and he wore... a denim button down and structured black suit jacket. and despite my repeated attempts at offering my style expert opinion that the two just don't mesh, majed was convinced that he was experimenting with the jeans and jacket look, and this was his interpretation. adorable. what can I say? he has a great tush!

(September, 27 - NYC) Another year older for moi and loving every minute of it! I love feeling like a woman. Coming into my own and knowing I can kick some serious ass in life. Balls to the wall, Bebe! I celebrated my 34th with a relaxing facial at Gurney's Spa in Montauk, thanks to my sister, The Urban Grocer. Day of, me & Maj threw an intimate bash at Norwood with the help of my college bud, Lady E. Hostess Cupcakes and LOTS of Champgne and strawberries. I wore an $8.50 scoop neck, Cheetah dress, red Chanel Rouge lips and had my hair did Betty Draper style by Meg D. at Salon V. Love my friends! Loved the day! Loving life! Especially loving you. Insert wink emoticon here.

maj and I were overwhelmed by the response left by friends on our FB vacation pix. I even got a call from my stylish friend, phu asking advice on what are appropriate gifts for a guy on a one year anniversary? I gave my man, a full adidas originals tracksuit in green. while not romantic, it was super cool and something he always wanted. watches, sunglasses and cologne are also great gifts for a significant. alpha in west hollywood is a great place to pick up a guy's gift. and any barney's or barney's co-op will have the hook up on luxury wallets, socks, weekend bags and ties.

amazing weekend getaway on the cheap

it was me & maj's first year anniversary this past weekend and since I had been traveling for the past three weeks to boston, los angeles and miami on business, I wanted to spend some quality summer snuggle time with my man. I got home from the miami swimshow on wednesday night and thursday morning we were off and running. a $17 chinatown bus from nyc to DC has us visiting family and eating yummy soul fusion food at creme on U street. friday morning we picked up our enterprise rental and headed to the outer banks, north carolina. our adorable no frills hotel, ocean house motel at milepost 9.5 in kill devil hills was a perfect hideaway with great prices. I rocked my bikini thief zuma in black on the beach as we baked our Mediterranean skin. we ate a ton of DQ blizzards (mine, cookie dough & his, heath bar), delicious fish at mako mike's, putt putt at sunset and an incredible sunset ecology tour with captain lenny of soundside adventures to watch the purple martins descend on the manteo bridge. we were in the car, sunday morning, bellies filled with grits and bad coffee from stack 'em high to make the five hour trek back to DC. we got to our destination with just enough time to catch my 6pm appearance on TV Guide Channel's Fashion Team (which I rated a solid A -- video post to follow soon). a veggie chinese dinner in chinatown DC capped off our amazing weekend. naps on the bus had us in NYC early morning and in bed to dream of Dairy Queen.

looking for style in the arab world

with the recent crowning of our first arab-american miss america, rima fakih, my super hot boyfriend, majed starring in the recent new york arab-american comedy festival and the soon to be released sex in the city 2 which takes place in the middle east, I figured I would do some investigative trending on the culture and style of the arab world. the popular thaub, traditionally worn by men is a long, white tunic worn in the desert. this can be easily be translated into a beautiful tory burch tunic for the beach. and everyone loves a scarf. the traditional kafia is sold widespread from urban outfitters to the hipster streets of williamsburg. and as for beauty products, my super hot boyfriend majed just educated me on the practice of henna as hair dye. peace through style, people. like jessica simpson, embrace and share the beauty and love in all.

valentine's to do

next week is the first valentine's day with my sexy, sweetie, maaaaaaj and I know the man is supposed to prepare something special however being me, I can't help but produce a lovely v-day weekend. if you need help with your planning, take away whatever tips you choose and adjust it to your liking. to prepare for the day de l'amour, I've booked tix to montreal from new york on amtrak. a romantic ride throught the aidorandeck's will surely get us in the mood for making whoop. next up, dinner in old montreal. for the actual day of love, a trip to jardin botanique and massages at rainspa. a brazillian dinner and jazz after dark. pre-weekend plans include a quick trip for a brazillian full-wax at bliss salon in soho and some fun lingerie and a new dress on the cheap from conway. I know some things are left up to surprise and spontenaity but for me, a good plan is a lot more sexy.
