This year’s New York winter has been nothing short of a seasonal dream, with retailers reflecting that in upcoming spring fashions. Fresh colors like mint green, blush, and pastel peach color blocked with purple denim, red heels, and kelly-green cropped pants offer an explosion to your style senses. If you’re not quite sure how to put this look together, consider this your cheat sheet for spring must-haves and where to buy them on a Cheap Chic budget.

Bisous

I love the simple, chic and cheeky shoe of Jordana Silver. And that's not just because she's my friend. It wasn't until recently, when Jordana sent over a pair of her customized flats that I was even aware she was a shoe designer. And like, a BIG DEAL, shoe designer. The collection was conceived from a personal problem Jordana had. She loved shoes but always wanted the shoes out of her budget. When she did buy a pair of shoes, they would be black and basic because they were the most versatile. She knew there had to be a solution, and the idea for a collection centered on whimsical shoe clips was born. With the base of a ballet flat, the shoes are customized with a collection of unique bisous (or shoe clips) that range from metallic bows to stones to studs to lady bugs. With so many kissable clips to choose from, you'll be as obsessed as I am.

My day gig as Style Producer for The Chew has me at Bloomingdales. Alot. Which gives me the great pleasure of seeing the hottest and latest. My favorite line this Spring which is more delightfully colorful and daintily fitted than most I've ever seen is Nanette Lepore. She clashes bright pink and yellow neons under sheer lacy tops and skirts for an incredibly color blocked collection. Next time your in Bloomingdales, pay yourself a visit before the season turns and its back to black.

The Downtown Project

Two years ago, me and my cutie boyfriend decided to co-habitate in the most unlikely of places. The Upper East Side. After traversing the city, taking in the neighborhood’s food, proximity to a subway and apartment pricing, the Upper East Side afforded us everything we wanted and more. So we made the move to a Carrie Bradshaw-inspired junior one bedroom with wood floors, exposed brick, recessed lighting and 5 incredibly chic large french windows where we’ve created the perfect Cheap Chic set up to settle in to.

It took a while, one month specifically, for me to allow the opulence and luxury of my new neighborhood to flood in and once I aligned with its beauty, tree-lined streets and incredibly rich history of New York art and society, I’ve never looked back. As the creator of Cheap Chic Shopping Tours, I believe money doesn’t buy style. I buy it cheap and make it chic. And this applies to living as well. My neighborhood may be for millionaire’s, but I’ve claimed it as my own, for free. To read more, click The Downtown Project here.

Cheap Chic Bridal

This past summer I watched my sister get married in the south of France. As the maid of honor, I had the pleasure of helping her pick out the wedding dress.

When we chose the bridal atelier, I watched my sister’s beautiful gown go from within budget to completely overblown by the additional prices of alterations—a bow here, an embellishment there, a mid-length veil, and not to mention, the international shipping.

Weddings are an event of a lifetime. And vendors charge brides accordingly so. I feel it unfair that on the most special day of a woman’s life, she is overcharged from the smallest detail, like a monogram on a napkin, to the big decisions, such as the dress.

Maximize Your Maxi

Gwenyth Paltrow is the guest on The Chew tomorrow. And they're taping right now. Watching her glide effortlessly into the studio, I can confirm she is one cool chick. And she is as thin and as tall as you would imagine (again, catch The Chew tomorrow at 1pm to catch the appearance!). It got me thinking about an elongated look. And nothing elongates a look like a floor length jersey maxi skirt. In a variety of colors, you can dress it up with a button-down tucked in, or rock the boho chic with an old tee under an open chambray. If leggings is the go-to for Winter, make a Maxi your go-to for Spring.
